June is my third month taking part in the Vegan Food Swap experience. I've had so much fun designing boxes each month. The box I sent out this month was a before-noon-desk-drawer-survial-kit.
This month my swap box came from Cat of The Verdant Life. She may have also included a chocolate bar that did not survive the first night in my house to make it to the reveal photo. Luckily the rest of the box did survive and will make it to the snack bag for my vacation next week.
There is still time to join the fun for July, for more informaiton on how to join click here.

A few weeks ago my friend Cat at The Verdant Life was struck with a brilliant idea to start a Vegan Food Swap. Being that almost nothing makes me happier than sharing my favorite foodie finds with others I immediately signed up. Then I started dreaming up ideas and themes for my boxes, making a card, and wondering what I might receive from my partner.

Of all of life’s simple pleasures, I can’t think of anything that beats a hug. A hug is free, contains no calories or added sweeteners, is allergen and GMO free, does not deplete the planet’s resources, allows for creativity (to a degree, … ok, maybe not too much), and promotes well-being. Whether you have allergies, are vegan, vegetarian, or not, and/or live on lower funds accumulation, a Hugfest is all-inclusive. Our thanks go out to Sayer, who has organized Hugfests in Spokane, Washington for the last couple of years, and sent us a packet of Hugfest buttons to promote “… the value of spontaneous hugs in everyone’s life.”. Sayer also sent us an instruction sheet for how to give a great hug. We are very happy to share the information with you as everyone loves a great hug.

It brings me great joy to announce that we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with our coconut milk woes. The long and arduous process of bringing all of our flavors back was kicked off last week with the return of Mint Galactica and Cherry Amaretto. Why Mint Galactica and Cherry Amaretto? We received an overwhelming number of requests for both flavors and listened to your pleas. They went into production last week and will be back on store shelves during the first half of October.
A peek in our crystal ball shows that in early November Chocolate Peanut Butter and Cappuccino will making a their returns. Beyond that our crystal ball becomes hazy, but we do plan to have all flavors back by early 2012. We'll keep you updated here as soon as we have more information, and if you're favorite flavor isn't on deck yet leave us a comment and let us know why you think it should be!

The 2011 VegNews Veggie Awards have arrived and I have some exciting news to share with you! We have partnered with VegNews to bring one lucky voter a year supply of Coconut Bliss! They also have a vegan Carribean cruise, VeganTreats party, a Vitamix, and truffles up for grabs so go get your vegan vote on!
Of course you'll find us under best vegan ice cream and I would be honored to have your vote!
Voting ends August 31st, full details available on survey start page.

Last month at Bliss HQ we made the first of several tough decisions to put four of our flavors on a temporary discontinuation due to coconut milk shortages. At that time things looked like smooth sailing moving forward with our supply of coconut milk, unfortunately we have hit some turbulence since then. Once again we find ourselves needing to make some tough decisions.
In an effort to keep all of our distributors stocked with Coconut Bliss we will only be producing our top four flavors (Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, Dark Chocolate, Naked Coconut, and Vanilla Island), and both bars (Naked Coconut & Dark Chocolate), through the month of August. Starting in September, as supplies allow, we will start adding flavors back into the flow.

Did you know that today, May 14th is World Fair Trade Day? To celebrate we are giving away a basket full of Coconut Bliss Goodies: 2 Free Pints, 1 Water Bottle, and the Diana Stobo smoothie book "Naked Bliss". Leave us a comment on this post along with a way to contact you if you are our winner, we'll randomly draw a winner on Friday May 20th at noon PST.

Coconut Bliss has been very fortunate, thanks to all of our wonderful fans and loyal customers, that we have been expanding our team here at Bliss Headquarters in Eugene, Oregon. We are pleased to introduce you to this dynamic trio of amazing women that help us keep the Coconut Bliss stocked on shelves and in your freezers.
Although we've been growing, we are still a small company, so we like to keep things all "in the family" so to speak.
Andrea is the wife of Marc, our National Sales Manager. They have two fabulous kids and a new puppy, and although their family has been a part of the Bliss family all along, it's a great pleasure to have Andrea here working alongside us everyday. She came to us from the Eugene Waldorf School, and is now our accounts receivables and order processing maestra.
Victorianna (or Vicki), has long been a friend of Coconut Bliss as well. She often sings kirtan alongside Luna and Lakshmi in Eugene and West coast Festivals, you can see their schedule here. In addition to being a performer and mother, she has had many years of running her own companies, and is now running our National Ambassador Program. She is essentially responsible in co-creating the "Ah Ha" moment on the palates of all who seek the way to a higher taste.

Very few tweets that cross my screen make me drool like Brian's Photo did. I immediately reached out to Brian in hopes to share his delicious looking creation with you. Luckily Brian was more than happy to share!

As you can guess, the staff of Coconut Bliss is very active outside of our 'Bliss-iverse' at the office. And when it's Summer in the Northwest, we do even more.
So we asked our staff what they did this Summer, and here are the responses we received...
