Sustainable Packaging

An all-embracing commitment

When we updated our pint packaging in 2018, we knew that we wanted to do more than just refresh the look - we wanted the whole package to embody our commitment to sustainability, inside and out. Thatโ€™s why our new paperboard-cup packaging is made from a category-first material protected by a biopolymer made from sugarcane husks.

First in Class

Coconut Bliss is the first frozen dessert or ice cream brand to replace petroleum based lining in our pints with a plant-based bio resin that keeps the integrity of the product safe. These nifty pint cups are also comprised of FSC-certified paperboard.

Looking Good

Beyond having totally sustainable material making up our packaging, our goal was to have a design that shows consumers our commitment to sustainable practices. We worked closely with Eugene-based Revolution Design Group to create imagery that expresses the plant-based and organic nature of the product while hinting at the sustainable packaging with natural elements like palm fronds. More than anything, we want our packaging to stand out with bright colors, bold designs, and tantalizing illustrations representing the natural flavors in every pint.

Small Steps to a Greater Change

In leading by example, we believe that our actions can help influence the world for the better. We made sustainability a key part of our mission and started demanding alternatives to the traditional petroleum-based, resin-lined ice cream packaging. We want to show consumers and other brands that making the shift to more sustainable practices is easy - all it takes is some intentionality. It starts with straws and shopping bags, then goes to clamshell packaging and shrink wrap. The more brands that make this transition to sustainable packaging, the more we all win.
