Allergen Statement
Coconut Bliss Allergen Control
Coconut Bliss products are made in facilities that also process frozen desserts containing dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts and tree nuts. This is a very common scenario for smaller companies who must rely on co-packing facilities in order to get their products manufactured. We take the issues of cross-contamination very seriously and we do everything within our power to ensure that our products are free of undeclared allergens. Our allergen control policies are based on these important processes: daily sanitation, scheduling, testing, and training.
Coconut Bliss production days are restricted to only our products. No dairy or egg ingredients are allowed in the production room on Coconut Bliss days.
Whenever Coconut Bliss is made, we always schedule nut or peanut flavors last in the day. After every production the equipment is taken apart, thoroughly washed, rinsed and sanitized and left to dry overnight. Protein swabs are used to detect trace amounts of protein on food contact surfaces. Protein swab results must be negative before the cleaning process is considered complete. All pieces of equipment are inspected the following morning before reassembly and then sanitized and rinsed once again. Before the first flavor of the new day is started, samples of the final rinse water are tested for the presence of allergens, as well as the first product off the line.
We have taken great measures to train the production crews in the importance of handling allergens: when allergenic ingredients are received they are labeled as such and are stored away from other ingredients. We review all of our suppliers allergen control programs and test at-risk ingredients for cross-contamination upon arrival. No allergens are allowed in the production room until the previous flavor has been completed and all materials and packaging have been sealed up and removed.
