Empowering Women

Bringing Global Impact and Helping to Fight Climate Change

We are committed to our vision of “Blissful experiences for all beings,” which is why we have taken inspiration from Project Drawdown to support and grow the rights of women and girls and help them thrive. This work, as stated in the book Drawdown, plays a pivotal role in “addressing climate change successfully.”

The Philippines

Where some of Coconut Bliss’s ingredients are grown.

Even though women make up an average of 43% of the agricultural labor force and produce an average of 60-80% of food crops in the poorest countries, they are often passed over for education opportunities and land ownership, leaving them especially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

So we asked ourselves a question: how could Coconut Bliss help these women and girls in the developing countries where our core ingredients are grown, harvested and processed?

Wave a Magic WAND

With the support of GlobalGiving, a crowdfunding community that connects nonprofits with donors and companies, Coconut Bliss is excited to announce our project collaboration with the Water, Agroforestry, Nutrition, and Development (WAND) Foundation.

WAND’s mission is the “Empowerment of marginal farmers, especially the youth, by implementing an integrated program of water, agroforestry, health and sanitation support, nutrition and community organizing.” Through initiatives in capacity building, local leadership development, gender, and development, WAND’s goal is for families to live dignified lives with strong community ties in a healthy social and economic situation.

Our partnership with WAND will improve the lives of these women and their families by supporting their small businesses. Donated funds will help them make and sell products such as charcoal from coconut shells, vinegar from coconut water, coco peat, and organic fertilizer. With a financial goal of $40,000 for the project, Coconut Bliss is excited to contribute the first $20,000.
