A Night Of Bliss 2010 Was A (Coconut) Blissful Success

Wow!  What a night it was! It was our second annual “A Night of Bliss” event here in Eugene.  I heard from several people that it felt like a family reunion.  There were indeed so many familiar and friendly faces; every time I turned around I was giving a hug to someone I knew.  The whole entire Coconut Bliss family had an absolutely amazing night, and we raised $3,200 dollars for our non-profits!  This year’s local groups were the Willamette Valley Sustainable Foods Alliance, The Oregon Toxics Alliance, and The Eugene Coalition for Better School Food...

We certainly couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of so many wonderful volunteers and donors who supported this event.

There were endless Coconut Bliss sundaes topped with an amazing array of local and organic toppings like Holy Kakow’s Chocolate Sauce, Missionary Chocolates Vegan Caramel Sauce, PremRose Edibles Ruby Jewel Rose Sauce, Lost Valley Educational Center’s Warm Fall Apple Sauce, Sweet Creek Foods’ Fruit Sauces, Raw Love’s Caramel Pecan Toppings, Grizzlie’s Granolas, Raw Cacao Nibs from Earth Circle Foods, and organic Hazelnuts, Almonds, and Chocolate Hazelnut Butter from Hummingbird Wholesale.

All of this amazing goodness was washed down w/ teas and coffees from Café Mam, Mt. Rose Herbs, and Numi Teas.  With savory vegan pasties provided by our favorite local purveyor  Cousin Jack’s Pasties, which were a wonderful counterpoint to the sweet offerings.

In addition to all the amazing food there were tons of awesome raffle prizes that were donated by our favorite local businesses such as Down to Earth, Mt. Rose Herbs, Cafe Mam, Wandering Goat Cafe, Hideaway Bakery/Mazzi's, Wilderness Poets (who make the most amazing raw nut butter and superfood blends!), Viva! Vegetarian Grill, The Divine Cupcake, Holy Cow Cafe, Sundance Natural Foods, Capella Market, Friendly Street Market.

And there was the grand prize of a $200 Gift Certificate to Breitenbush Hot Springs.... which quite serendipitously was won by the beautiful and talented Melissa who created the gorgeous stage space and altars for the evenings performances.

The music for the evening was provided by Jaya Lakshmi and friends, Red Pajamas Duo, and Ananda with SunHeart.  This year we also had the very fun addition of a "Red Carpet" style photo area, with a backdrop dontated by Imagine Graphics.  We'll be posting these pictures very soon on our Facebook pages, so stay tuned to see more happy blissed out faces from the event.  For now, here's a few shots that I captured throughout the evening.  Thanks to everyone who donated so generously, volunteered their time, and showed up for our local fundraiser event.

Just found Coconut Bliss

Hello Luna & Larry's. I recently took a challenge to go vegan for a day and had your Amaretto-Cherry ice cream as part of the challenge. I can safely say that it is just as good or better than any other iced treat I've ever had. I raved about it on my blog and want to rave about it to you too! Thanks so much for putting out such a high-quality and socially-conscious product. It makes me excited about America's food future!!

Thanks!

Thank you Leah! We are excited about the future of food too, each time we go to an expo we meet more and more like minded people with delicious products! Blissful Regards, Kiley
