Lost Valley--Where Luna & Larry dreamed up Coconut Bliss...and our featured Non-Profit

If you subscribe to our Newsletter (which you should!…just use the link at the bottom of the page), you may have noticed a new section in January’s issue called “Organizations We Love”.  It was obvious to all of us here at Bliss Headquarters that our first would be Lost Valley Educational Center.

This Permaculture Education Center and Intentional Community is located just 20 minutes southeast of Eugene, and is where Luna and Larry first met and dreamed up Coconut Bliss.  Luna was managing the organic vegetarian kitchen at the center, and Larry was the Events director.  They left Lost Valley to move into Eugene to start Coconut Bliss, and when they did their very first tasting party in 2004, Larry used his contacts from Lost Valley to invite those first lucky tasters. Now, over six years later, many members of the Coconut Bliss family here in Eugene and Ambassadors all across the country are Lost Valley Alumni.

Lost Valley’s mission is to be a learning community creating catalysts for joyful ecological & social regeneration.  They accomplish their mission by teaching Permaculture, Ecobuilding, and Ecovillage design. You can click the links above to check out more info about their upcoming course offerings, information on living at Lost Valley, and, best of all, here's a really catchy new song that explains what Permaculture is (in case you are new to the term) from recent Lost Valley course graduate David Griswold.  Trust me—this song is great! Who knows, maybe we can even convince David to write a new jingle for Coconut Bliss?!  Stay tuned….
