If you're a singer/vocalist, you may have heard 'don't eat ice cream the day of the show'. For some people, dairy products not only are a one way ticket to 'phlegmville', but it affects their voice negatively. What's a musician to do? Anecdotal evidence points to a possible answer...
...and Coconut Bliss may be it.
I was just reading a blog post at operagirlcooks.com , and -- as an opera singer -- she mentioned that Luna & Larry's Coconut Bliss was "perfectly safe to eat before you sing". Considering how much Coconut Bliss we all eat here at the office-- along with the fact that Luna, Lakshmi, Doug and I play and sing a lot of songs --, we're not surprised. Personally speaking, I can second Operagirlcooks's discovery. Lakshmi even serves Coconut Bliss during the intermission of her concerts, and her fellow vocalist musicians partake (that's Lakshmi, below, sharing a song at Doug's 'Hat Party' last year).
So, your vocals may vary, but check it out for yourself.
May the sound of Bliss envelope you, and keep you cool for the rest of the summer, for all your gigs.
