Coconut Bliss Expands Into Food Service
When you think of getting Coconut Bliss, you probably imagine heading to the ice cream aisle at your grocery store and picking your favorite flavor (or three) to enjoy at home. Recently, however, you might have noticed that we have been branching out beyond our familiar retail space into the food service sector. We’re really excited about this development in Coconut Bliss’s story, and we know that food service is a great fit for our delicious non-dairy treats.
One of the main reasons that we have expanded into food service is simply because there is a lot of demand in the sector for plant-based alternatives to dairy products. According to the National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse, somewhere between 30-50 million Americans are lactose intolerant1, and even more are opting to live a dairy-free lifestyle. With that many people unable to consume dairy-based products, more businesses are looking to partner with companies like Coconut Bliss to create high-quality non-dairy options for their consumers. That’s why Burgerville came to us to help them craft their dairy-free milkshake using our product as a base.
Our partnership with Burgerville is a great demonstration of another reason that we’re branching out: the food service sector gives us the opportunity to offer premium alternatives that are particularly well-suited to our product. We love making our pints, bars, and cookie sandwiches, and with food service we can harness that innovative spirit to find bliss in new forms! Since we began this expansion, we’ve created Coconut Bliss soft serve as well as modifying our production to accommodate the kinds of large tubs and ease of scooping that our food service partners need. These products also go great in a variety of different recipes, which lets restaurants customize their Coconut Bliss to match exactly what their customers are looking for.
Today, the food and beverage sector is facing a new reality that is full of potential: customers want non-dairy products not because of a trend, but because of long-term dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices. This radical shift in consumer behavior really started when many restaurants and fast food chains including Burgerville, KFC, Chipotle, and more started offering meat alternatives to their usual fare. Consumers began to realize that these chains were looking to accommodate their dietary needs, and the logical next wave was demand for plant-based dairy alternatives. Smart companies that have an eye to the future understand that their menus now need to be built with enticing non-dairy options to accommodate these customers.
For over a decade, we have been crafting irresistible high-quality non-dairy treats, and we are thrilled to expand to new horizons. Partnering with food service companies will allow us to respond to the needs of a changing industry, create new recipes and styles, and bring bliss to more and more people every day. We hope you’ll join us on this journey!
