A Look Back at 2019
What an exciting year 2019 was! As we bid a fond farewell to this year and look forward to everything that 2020 has in store, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate some of the highlights from the last 12 months.
We got a Makeover!
We were long overdue for a brand refresh, and this year we made it happen. Partnering with Eugene-based Revolution Design Group, we debuted new packaging for our pints, bars, and cookie sandwiches that is bright, bold, and totally us. With hand-illustrated flavor cues and a strong color story for each product, Coconut Bliss stands out on shelves with packaging that looks as good as its contents taste.
Plant-Based Ice Cream Meets Plant-Based Packaging
Beyond the new look, we updated our packaging in another very important way: In addition to being made from recycled paperboard, all our pints now have a plant-based bio-polymer lining made from sugarcane husks. Sustainability is a central part of our mission, and we are thrilled that we can come closer to closing the loop on our sustainability mission with our packaging. As the first ice cream or frozen dessert brand to take this step, we hope that we can be leaders that encourage others to make this crucial change.
Coconut Bliss Soft Serve at Burgerville
One of our favorite things this year was partnering with Burgerville to debut Coconut Bliss soft serve. We’re all about innovation and partnerships, and this project checks both boxes. Now you can enjoy Coconut Bliss in a new way. Just say, “Make it a Bliss” when you order one of Burgerville’s famous milkshakes to make it dairy-free at no extra cost!
5 New Flavors Coming Soon
We’re always looking to expand our offerings to provide our customers with their new favorite flavor. After spending much of 2019 brainstorming, developing, and testing 5 new flavors, we’re getting ready to debut them! Keep an eye on our social media and newsletters for more news.
Mel’s Drive-In Partnership
We partnered with the iconic Mel’s Drive-In to offer dairy-free versions of all of their milkshake flavors using Coconut Bliss. Next time you’re in L.A. or San Francisco, stop by and find your bliss!
We’re Seeing Green
We care deeply about sustainability and protecting the environment, which is why we were so honored to be named one of Oregon Business’s 100 Best Green Workplaces. Our commitment to this work is only growing deeper, and we are excited to continue to find new ways to reduce our environmental impact and make the world a better place.
More Pints at Sprouts
Our products have been featured at Sprouts Markets for a number of years, but our shelf space increased in 2019 with the addition of more pint flavors. Now you can find even more of your favorites at Sprouts stores!
Working to Empower Women around the World
Driven by our vision of “blissful experiences for all beings,” we partnered with Global Giving and WAND (The Water, Agroforestry, Nutrition, and Development Foundation) to create a program that helps women become entrepreneurs using coconut by-products in the Philippines where some of our main ingredients are grown. The goal of this work is to support and grow the rights and livelihoods of these women and help make healthy, thriving communities across the globe.
Cookie Sandwiches Come to Canada
We are always looking to expand our distribution footprint, and this year we took the big step of bringing Coconut Bliss cookie sandwiches to the Canadian market. When more people can enjoy our products and feel the bliss, we’re happy!
