Bliss Unlimited, LLC was founded to create a satisfying ice cream without the health and ecological impacts associated with dairy, soy, or gluten. Coconut Bliss® is The Evolution of Ice Cream®. USDA-certified organic and Non-GMO Project verified, Coconut Bliss® is based on cholesterol-free coconut milk that is packed with lauric acid and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), and sweetened with naturally low-glycemic agave syrup. The company values ecological and social sustainability, and strives to use the highest quality and most ethically produced organic ingredients it can find. It is privately owned and based in Eugene, Oregon, and has been operating since February 2005.
Coconut Bliss Headquarters
Our company culture values a lifestyle of sustainability, and we work to bring sustainable practices to all levels of our operation. In January of 2010, we moved into a centrally located 100-year-old farmhouse that we updated with full spectrum lighting, organic wool carpets and natural “no VOC” paint. Three days a week we offer vegan, organic lunches to our staff, which saves time, water and electricity. The meals are prepared using produce from a local farm CSA when seasonally available. Our compost is taken to the Food for Lane County Gardens, and we recycle everything that qualifies. Our office is powered by EWEB’s Green Power program, and we are members of the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, through which we purchase Water Restoration Credits.
For the majority of our printing needs, we’ve partnered with Green Solutions in our hometown of Eugene, Oregon.
Coconut Bliss donates annually to dozens of non-profits, both local and national organizations that work for health and education. Every November, we host an annual fundraising event we call A Night of Bliss. It’s a special night of endless Coconut Bliss sundaes, local foods, arts, and music. Proceeds go to two organizations that are invited to come and share their vision and work with A Night of Bliss guests.
Growing our Sustainability Awareness
In 2014, Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss became members of the Sustainable Food Trade Association. This organization works with the organic food trade to evaluate and measure sustainability programs. With their guidance, we are evaluating every aspect of our business, from suppliers and production, to storage and distribution. Every year, we will submit a publishable report with our findings. Our goal is to is to remain a viable, healthy, growing business while making the most conscientious choices we can and continually striving for improvement.
